Yes, you really can toss this Daytripper in the wash. Remove the tassel & strap, pull out the lining, wash on cold, machine dry 10-20min.
Our specially formulated lining starts with a double coating of waterproof barrier material which is then thermally applied to a flexible poly knit base fabric. We love our city. And love the care and craftsmanship that go into our bags by making them right here in Denver.
I can’t say enough about this bag! I looked into it after reading a travel blogger’s recommendation. The website is incredibly descriptive and the videos left me feeling like I had seen the bag in person. It is so stinkin’ functional! Slides over your luggage handle for easy transport. Cross body straps offers an alternative if you have other shoulder bags to carry. It got dirty going through airport security but knowing it could be washed kept me from worrying. My laptop fits in the inside pocket, and I use the front outside pocket for quick access of cell phone and passport. The pink leather tassel is fun and also makes opening the zipper easier. The bag is big enough to stuff full, which meant I could pack the rest in a carryon and still travel lightly. It easily fits under plane seat. Once in Greece, I emptied it out and used it as a beach and pool bag. It’s waterproof and worry free. I have larger duffle bags that I figured were similar in size to the weekender so the day tripper was the right size for me and filled a void in my travel gear lineup. I got the olive bottom which I recommend because you will inevitability be setting it on the ground or sound. Also recommend dark straps because you will carry it a lot and a light color would show dirt and wear faster. I think the color scheme I chose was perfect and the pink accents kept a feminine quality.
this is my every day bag. i use it for work (front pocket is perfect for my laptop), class (carries up to 4 soft cover text books) and playdates (extra set of clothes, water bottles for both of us and all the essentials). i also used it for our most recent trip from Switzerland to the US for 3 weeks. it was perfect carry-on for the plane and daily activities. it is a very multipurpose bag. i can fit a ton in it or just the essentials. super plus, is that i can throw it into the washer if and when needed. it is a great everyday bag for moms on the go and for moms who don't have the same day everyday...
i also have the convertible clutch that is always in my daytripper… if i only need my wallet, keys and phone, then I grab the clutch our of the daytripper and go...
im obsessed with the meow print! and that is what i have for my daytripper and clutch. i have the simple clutch in black for my mom's essential bag (lotions, band-aids, hand sanitizer, etc.).
I haven’t used the bag yet, but I was pretty disappointed in the color. I first ordered the I ordered the meow print, which I hated in real life. I returned that and instead purchased the natural and Olive day tripper. On the website, the bag appears to be a nice creamy color. In real life, natural = dingy oat color.
I plan to keep the bag since it’s the bag I like the most with the trolley sleeve feature.
I really wanted to like this tote...I have the Day tripper. I really need the weekender size, but I am thinking that may not be the tote I need. The Day Tripper is just too small for me. I was disappointed in the quality. $150 for a tote is a lot of money. I thought the inside lining was a little cheap looking, I realize it is washable. Not sure about this one, for the price. I traveled with once and it got really heavy. Even with the shoulder strap it was not comfortable. I do like that sleeve that slips over your roller bag. I would order the larger size and try it out, but the price is holding me back.
I just took my bag on my first business trip. I love that this bag is very functional - fits under my seat on the plane, can fit over the handle of my carry on and can be tossed in the wash if needed. However, the strap is too thin and flimsy for the size of the bag. My strap broke 3 minutes into my trip through Security at the airport. Now granted, I did have a lot in the bag - laptop, iPad, wallet, makeup bag, etc. But this is stuff I would normally carry on a trip such as this. The strap needs to be wider, thicker and the hardware needs to be more durable. Picture attached.
